Aska Productions

Aska Productions was born out of the ashes of the legendary Club Aska. A club that has brought hundreds and hundreds of bands to different venues in Örebro, Sweden over the last 10 years. To name them all would be insane (and we couldn’t even if we tried) but these are a few of them:

The Hives, The Hellacopters, Hammerfall (Metallsvenskan), Danko Jones, Bolt Thrower, Vomitory, U.D.O, Volbeat, Nile, Backyard Babies, Meshuggah, The Haunted, In Flames, Mnemic, Sabaton, Nocturnal Rites, Amon Amarth, M.A.N, Engel, 2 Ton Predator, Nightrage, Kataklysm, Vader, Facebreaker, Entombed, Nasum, Lost Horizon, Grave, Dee Dee Ramone, Supersuckers, PAIN, Mustasch and the list could go on forever.

We are the one organization in Örebro who focus on getting the heavier side of music to this city as well co-operating with other cities and clubs to bring quality concerts to them. Be it death metal, be it black metal, be it nu metal, be it groovier rock. We do it. We love it. And we concentrate on quality, not quantity.

In 2008 we felt like it was about time we moved away from the badly run small clubs we were dealing with. Clubs who worked against us instead of understanding the fact we were helping them by doing gigs there. Gigs we organized just becoz we love the music and becoz we believe the citizens of Örebro deserve some quality concerts. We decided to kill Club Aska and start Aska Productions. With this move we move into the bigger venues of Örebro, with one of them being the biggest. Where we will do the gigs depends on the size of the band in question ofcourse, but both venues are excellent. With Aska Productions we will not restrict ourselves to do gigs at our home ground only, as mentioned – we are aiming to work with clubs and organizers outside of Örebro. We will also work with a few selected bands and try to get them a few places to play at around Sweden and abroad.

Aska Productions is run by Jan Larsson. Jan is the guy responsible for alot of the gigs at Contan, Sombrero and Downtown (all in Örebro, Sweden) during the 90’s and early-to-mid 2000 when he moved Aska to Satin (R.I.P), and made that place legendary in the process.

Last off, we are always interested in having people promoting our gigs, which means running around town for the purpose of putting up posters for the events Aska Productions will organize. You wanna do this? You get some benefits from it, such as free entry to our gigs as long as you help out with this, and are doing a great job with it. We might give you a beer as well. Or two. Or none. All depending on our mood.
